Kitchen Princess 1 Natsumi Ando Miyuki Kobayashi Books

It's a cute story (kinda typical, but nice) that left me happy, and wanting to read more! But after reading reviews and hearing people say that it turns into a much more dramatic story and very sad, I'm not so sure I'll continue. I don't like sad stories...And I was really surprised to hear that about this book because after reading it (and even just looking at the cover) You would never expect that something catastrophic was going to happen.

Kitchen Princess 1 Natsumi Ando Miyuki Kobayashi Books Reviews

I actualy liked the manga but for the most part everyone picks on her in this volume noone likes her and daichi one of the man guys calls her a monkey half the time. The book follows naijika and her search for the prince who gave her his flan when she was down. From there she meets daichi and sora the only nice one for awhile is sora sweet and handsom he sticks up for her and soon so does daichi also while she is there a girl akane who acts nice but bully's her the hole first novel ad contiunes the second one. Other than that it's good and intersting
The review covered the plot really well so I'm just going to give some of my impressions after reading. Alright, I picked up Kitchen Princess unsure of what to expect and ended up being really happy I purchased it! KP may rely on some typical shoujo plot devices, but it still manages to feel fresh and cute. The emphasis on cooking was great. Najika uses her kitchen skills to make others happy in a sweet, non-sappy way. The art was fitting for the story. I personally enjoy Natsumi Ando's style. Her characters are all attractive with a wide range of expressions and poses. The backgrounds are well- rendered and are more detailed then I've seen in other shoujo lately. And the food looked delicious ^_^

Del Rey hasn't done a lot of (if any) shoujo, so I was really happy to see them publish this. The translation reads nicely and I didn't spot any obvious spelling errors. In the back they included their standard translators notes and a preview for volume 2. Also included in the back of the book are recipes! You can find out how to make all the tasty treats Najika made.

In the end, Kitchen Princess was a really enjoyable book. If you like shoujo, KP is a great title to add to you collection. It's cute with good art and a lot of promise for future volumes (I can't wait to find out who her prince is!).
I read this series on a whim; I was really into cooking at one point. It is cute and fun, just pure enjoyable reading. I was delighted to find out that there are even recipes for what she makes in the back! I am totally going to try them.

Najika reminded me a lot of the Fruits Basket character Tohru Honda, having a love of life and everyone/everything around her even though tragedy has clouded her past. Najika is selfless and always that first one to offer a helping hand.

I also like how this manga has a direction of where it is going and a direction for the characters to take. They know what path they want to go and what goals they are searching for. It is one of those manga stories that seems to be really inspirational to me and inspires me to go and try to find out what I want to do with my life.
The first volume, I borrowed from my friend. I feel bad now, because I kept it forever. I must have re-read just this first volume over 20 times!!
It even made me get up in the middle of the night, wanting to cook.
I read it from start to finish and counted down the days until the next volume came out. I'm not even that interested in cooking, and I wasn't before, but it was such a great story. If you love to cook, then that's a bonus; you're in for a real treat!
It went nice and slow, and was easy to understand. The art is fun to watch, because there are obvious improvements from volume 1 to 10, but it doesn't start out bad at all. Just gets better. And who doesn't like that?
10 volumes packed a lot in. I won't spoil, but there are a couple plot twists in here that are very heartbreaking. They are not bad in the way, however, that you ever lose hope for bigger things.
The main character is fun and bubbly. You will feel like you're good friends with her by the time it's over- that's how much it grabs you. I've never forgotten any of the character's names for a second. If you never read another manga, please just read this one! It's been my favorite for years!
I'm not a big fan of shoujo stories but I came upon this manga in the library and started to read it out of boredom. I'm glad I gave it a chance! it's one of my favorites and I will buy the volumes, it's only 10 volumes after all and this will make a nice title in my collection.

The main character is not annoying, she's sweet and makes me happy^^ in the story she tries to make people smile with her food and she certainly makes me smile with her attitude heart warming, energetic, positive, honest and she stands up for herself. Volume one is packed with interesting characters, it's funny, refreshing and it conveys what the main character wants making people happy^^

One problem I have with manga is that I easily get bored or rolls my eyes at the cliche circumstances but with this manga I got surprised at some twists and it makes me keep reading either to find out who's Najika's "prince" from her childhood and why the brothers don't get along or just to enjoy Najika's everyday life. There are no annoying characters, I like them all and I think that's why I love this manga so much. Plus we get some nice recipes at the end hehe <3

I Highly recommend it!
Is a very cute and funny book it came in great shape. The main character is nice and loves to cook.
This is a great book if you want the beginnings of a possible romance comedy manga. A poor little girl, whose been orphaned since her great chef parents died, gets into a prestigious school. She has a knack for eating as well as baking, anything she tastes she can bake without needing to know anything else. She catches the eyes of two siblings who find themselves befriending her, little does she know their father is the one who runs the school. Great book! Can't wait to wrap it up for my friend!
